Four Skills – Four Shifts – One Weekend

twentytwenty December 25th, 2009

Hey mate,

Yesterday, I was asked exactly what we do all weekend in Scout Camp – The Native Eyes Weekend.

“How can I explain it.   The Native Eyes weekend is simple, yet magical.”

We explore four key skills I learned from Native American elders.

  • Fire by Friction.
  • Advanced Awareness.
  • Invisible Movement.
  • Tracking.

Those ancient skills give you survival skills, and transformational opportunities.

Fire by friction: Making fire with this ancient method exposes hidden beliefs, thought processes, and attitudes that “put out” your inner spark.

Advanced Awareness: As we explore how to become much more aware, you’ll notice how most people walk around like zombies.   Increased happiness and energy result from exploring how to be more alive and aware.  Let’s face it, if all your food comes from grocery stores, you don’t have to be all that aware to survive.   The more aware you become the more alive you feel.  It’s like being a kid again!

Invisible Movement: It’s not about becoming “sneaky” in the woods, it’s about learning how to move invisibly in FLOW and HARMONY.   This ancient skill set carries over into your entire life.  Imagine more FLOW and HARMONY.  Nuff said.

Tracking: The tracking mindset teaches you to notice the stories that are left behind, all around you, all the time.   Life becomes an endless adventure, full of opportunities and play.
